Frankfurt Book Fair 2021 – Let’s meet this fall !

Fall season is almost here and we’re eager to reconnect with you all. Given the current global circumstances, at the moment XYZ’s team isn’t planning on travelling to Germany for Frankfurt Book Fair. Nonetheless, we have a tone of delightful new titles and we are ready to share them with you.

This morning, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) unveiled the 18 recipients of the Ordre des arts et des lettres du Québec for 2021. Éditions XYZ is delighted and proud to learn that among them is Jocelyne Saucier, a distinguished novelist who has been on the Quebec literary scene for 25 years. and whose books have been translated into more than 15 languages.

This prestigious honour awarded by the CALQ pays tribute to artists, writers, managers, and patrons in the cultural milieu for their outstanding contribution to the development and reputation of excellence of Québec arts and literature, at home and abroad.

La grosse laide will represent Quebec at MIFA 2021

La grosse laide by Marie-Noëlle Hébert will represent Quebec at the Annecy International Animation Film Market (MIFA) 2021. The jury selected 5 international graphic novels that will be presented at the MIFA Comic Book Pitch in mid-June. Congratulations to Marie-Noëlle and the Quai no5 team for bringing this must-see work to life!

The MIFA is an international event and a reference in terms of co-production, purchase, sale, financing and distribution of content on all media for all professionals of the animation industry. Our presentation will be made in partnership with Québec BD.

Finalist for the XXII Premi Llibreter

Finalist for the Hubert-Reeves 2021 Award!

Si près, si loin, les oies blanches by Gérald Baril is named a finalist for the Hubert-Reeves 2021 Award. The winner will be announced at the end of May 2021. Fingers crossed!

The Hubert-Reeves Award is a unique competition for the best French-language works of popular science. Created for the general public by the CHA in 2010 and awarded for the first time in 2011, with the collaboration of Hubert Reeves himself and his family. Since then, it aims to stimulate the production of popular science books in French and to promote a quality scientific culture in Quebec and in Canada.
